Kitso Setshwaelo is the Founder and Principal Cost Planner at Sets & Co, an independent construction cost advisory practice based in Australia. He brings close to twenty years of experience in quantity surveying, cost planning, and estimating across a wide range of building and infrastructure projects.

Before establishing Sets & Co, Kitso held senior roles with leading Tier 1 Construction and Consultancy Companies including Lendlease, John Holland, Slattery Australia, and WT Partnership. During this time, he worked on projects ranging from commercial and residential developments to hospitals, transport infrastructure, and large public works, with individual project values reaching into the billions.

Kitso’s strength lies in his practical understanding of how projects are priced, procured, and delivered. His experience spans cost planning, first principles estimating, tender preparation, procurement strategy, trade package analysis, value management, and contract administration. Having worked on projects delivered through Design and Construct, Managing Contractor, Target Cost, PPP, and alliance models, he brings a balanced perspective that considers both risk and buildability.

Kitso holds a Bachelor of Applied Science with Honours in Quantity Surveying from Queensland University of Technology, supported by further business and commercial training. He is known for his clear communication style, attention to detail, and collaborative approach, working closely with clients, consultants, and contractors to achieve realistic and reliable cost outcomes.
